The band’s roots go behind to their purpose as defining artists in a phenomenally renouned Southern California stone stage of a ’70s, a decade in which they delivered 4 uninterrupted #1 albums. Their useful 2004 farewell debate filled stadiums around a world, as great as this 2-DVD set captures a single of a many stellar events from which now-historic tellurian sweep. Thirty songs, widespread out over dual discs as great as great over dual as great as a half hours, with excellent performances, great sound, as great as great visible direction: it’s all here upon Farewell 1 Tour, a documentary of a Eagles’ 2004 unison in Melbourne, Australia. At a single point, a maestro rope seemed doubtful to even have it to a latest millennium, though here they are, often intact, with a fibre of hits dating behind some-more than 3 decades. The infancy of them have been achieved here, from a beginning (”Take It Easy,” “Desperado,” “Peaceful Easy Feeling”) by “Hotel California” as great as “Life in a Fast Lane” as great as right up to “Love Will Keep Us Alive” (from Hell Freezes Over, their many latest recording with latest element upon it); there have been additionally hits from Glenn Frey, Don Henley, as great as Joe Walsh’s piece for one person careers, as great as a couple of latest songs as well, together with Walsh’s “One Day during a Time” (an aspiring paper to his new-found sobriety) as great as “Hole in a World,” Frey as great as Henley’s moving, roughly gospel-tinged greeting to a events of 9/11/01. Guitarist Don Felder, who separate acrimoniously with a rope in 2001, isn’t most missed, as deputy Steuart Smith plays a tools only as Felder did–i.e., flattering most just as they were available (indeed, primitive recreations of a college of music versions of their songs has regularly been a hallmark of a Eagles’ live shows). As for a rather impertinent title, well, there’s regularly been a sure audacity to a Eagles’ clarity of humor, as great as it’s no opposite this time, as Frey doesn’t even fake which there won’t be a Farewell 2 Tour in a future. And because not? These have been great songs, played beautifully by a party (plus supplemental musicians) to audiences which adore them. Bonus element is singular to regular interviews with a band. –Sam Graham

  1. These men are disgusting and mentally ill. Do not continue to support these bad people. “End of the Innocence” is a song about Don Henley as an old man, taking sexual advantage of a young girl, in a very bad intention. They write bad things in most of their songs, intending to harm people and present themselves as “clean.” Don Henley wrote Witchy Woman to clean the physical ugliness from Stevie Nicks, intending to dump her personal appearance problems with Don on the public in general. They are trying to make her a blonde so that they match very well as a couple.

Unbelievable, the best ever, til Henley made his comment about Rupert Murdock prior to Dirty Laundry. When will you all get over it? The American People know Sadam had weapons, he used them on his own people. He was harboring terrorists.! Why do you rock stars have to be such incompetent losers? And then you try to sing some kind of heartwarming b.s. about 9/11. We, the people of this great country, voted your people out last November. And your judges are next. HELLO!!!!

And, by the way, Don; if you don’t like Dallas (where I live and have seen YOU) and the south, LEAVE. …. you, and the horses you all rode in on! I used to like you personally.! Enjoy your extinction.

  3. Our problem with the this item was that we thought it was a cd not a dvd, a cd was what we were looking for. Todate I have not received my refund on my credit card. I am sorry to say I had to mail both invoices back and I do not have any copies. One was ordered 2 days before Valentines Day and the replacement was ordered on 2/16/06. All dvd’s have been returned in February.

    Thank you.

The Eagles is one of the biggest selling artist in the U.S.A. in the middle of 70s. Still I wonder what good is that band. I have nothing good to say. I really hate songs like Hotel California and A New Kid In the Town. Himo Pohonen likes this band!

From what I have seen on A & E, this band misses Don Felder, I have never seen the Eagles perform this poorly, in my life, I love the eagles & never knew how much Felder inspired for this band!!! I suggest the band just retire, or go their separate ways, this performance is no way near Hell freezes over!!!
